                                                           In the Ukrainian Trap

Situation in Russia, Europe and in the world is rapidly developing, spurred on by escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that becomes world war, covers all spheres of life and leads to sharp aggravation of contradictions, including social and economic, within most of the states involved. The world is changing rapidly, and as Josep Borrell said to those who oppose those changes and the war itself: “What kind of peace do you need?!”

The aggravation is manifested in events that become symbols reflecting processes hidden for many, but that may determine the future of mankind.

In this article, I would like to draw attention to two events: the attack by Ukrainian drones on the Moscow Kremlin and the sharp surge in terrorist and sabotage activities on the territory of the Russian Federation, and the “rebellion” of the head of the Wagner private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who insulted the highest Commanders of the Russian Armed Forces, personally Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

“Тяжела ты, шапка Мономаха”, часть 4

Украинская матрёшка

События в последние дни развиваются стремительно в России, Европе, США и в мире целом, подгоняемые обострением на фронтах русско-украинской войны, в которой оказались вовлечены, хотя и в разной степени, большинство государств мира.

Война становится мировой, охватывает все сферы жизни и ведет к резкому обострению противоречий, в том числе социальных и экономических, внутри всех государств без исключения. Мир стремительно меняется, и как сказал Боррель тем, кто этих изменений, как и самой войны, не желает: «А какой мир вам нужен?!» 

Обострение внутреннего состояния стран проявляется в событиях, которые становятся символами времени, отражая процессы, скрытые для многих, в том числе правящих политиков, но эти процессы определят будущее человечества.

Сегодня я хотел бы обратить внимание читателей на два события: атаку украинских беспилотников на Кремль и последовавший за этой атакой резкий всплеск террористической и диверсионной активности Украины на территории РФ и выступление руководителя частной военной компании «Вагнер» Евгения Пригожина с оскорблениями в адрес руководства Вооружённых сил России, лично министра Шойгу и начальника Генштаба Герасимова.

In April 2023, when the world was expecting counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops, there were few events that not only had impact on the outcome of the war in Ukraine, but also provided additional information on the topic of this series of my articles – the threats to Russia and the West posed by China’s rise. Those events, from my point of view, did not receive due attention of political analysts and media.

Among those events were the visits of Brazilian President Inácio Lula da Silva and French President Emmanuel Macron to Beijing, of Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu to Moscow, the telephone conversation between Xi Jinping and Zelensky and the meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Japan.

Though those events were discussed in the world media, the essence of the ongoing process remained hidden in the shadow of the expectation of offensive by Ukrainian troops.

“Тяжела ты, шапка Мономаха…”, часть 3

Время, прошедшее с момента написания и публикации первых двух частей этой серии, оказалось наполненным событиями, которые дали дополнительную информацию по рассматриваемой мною теме, а именно, с какими угрозами и вызовами сталкиваются Россия и Запад в связи с неизбежным возвышением Китая. Эта информация важна для анализа и, с моей точки зрения, должного внимания не получила или была понята поверхностно как политическими аналитиками в России, так и на Западе. Это заставляет меня начать с анализа происходящих событий и вернуться к историческому фону и истокам нынешних процессов позже.

Ожидание контрнаступления Украины, которое определит течение войны в 2023 году, заслонило и отвлекло внимание от событий, которые произошли в апреле. Среди них надо выделить, без сомнения, визиты президента Бразилии Инасиу Лулы да Силвы и президента Франции Эмануэля Макрона в Пекин, министра обороны Китая Ли Шанфу в Москву, телефонный разговор Си Цзиньпина и Зеленского, встречу министров иностранных дел стран G7 в Японии и принятие новой концепция внешней политики РФ.

(Analysis of the results of Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow)

In the previous part of this series, I wrote about the meeting of Josef Resin, First Vice-Mayor, Head of Construction Complex in the Government of Moscow, with the General Managers of the four biggest Chinese construction Corporations. That meeting took place in Moscow, in 2004, and during that meeting, it turned out that the number of builders employed in each of the Chinese state corporations was several times bigger than the population of Moscow, and the total number of employees in these four Corporations was equal at least to half of population of the whole of Russia (https://valerymorozov.com/news/3403 )

That was twenty years ago, before China’s main economic breakthrough.

                                        Remains and Remnants of the Soviet Union

There was one aspect in that story that no one talked about at that meeting, but that all the Russians present thought about, and that was the fact that in the former Soviet construction companies, that survived the collapse of the USSR and whose names continued to be highly respected, there were only dozens of people working, among them only few were builders…

Shortly before the meeting between Resin and the management of Chinese Corporations, I had conversation with Andrey Shernin, project manager of Glavmosstroy Corporation at the State Kremlin Palace.
